The alternative to conventional rendering is a process known as Agricultural Byproduct Value Recovery System (ABVRS).
Developed in a partnership between Auburn University and a group of entrepreneurs, this system takes standard technology and creates a process that solves industry pollution and energy concerns.
The initial business Alpha Environment is to revolutionize the rendering industry by implementing the environmentally friendly ABVRS technology in densely populated areas around the world allowing for the collection and processing of offal, food waste and other related products into usable protein meal in areas previously unserved.
The financially viable business model is looking to capitalize on a growing global population living in increasingly higher density settings by implementing the disruptive ABVRS technology to focus on solving the rendering, waste recycling and processing issues in an environmentally friendly manner.
This initiative is likely to gain both public and private support by reducing the burdens placed on governments to use landfills to deal with waste in high-density regions while also creating a highly profitable business model to benefit the private investing sector. The company will simultaneously target the traditional rendering industry to process in a more environmentally friendly, energy efficient and profitable process.
